#014 - Move aside Jessica Fletcher, Aisling's on the case
The artefacts are in, the time capsule is sealed. There's only one thing left to do ... bury it. Oh, and solve a crime.
“Come in, Majella. Maj, do you copy? Over.”
“Ais, I’m in the jacks. Pelvic floor emergency. Over and out for a minute.”
Aisling slipped her walkie-talkie back into its holster and sat down at the warm picnic bench outside Filan’s. The last thing she needed now was Majella going MIA when she was supposed to be hosting the “crafternoon” in the Scouts Den, but she was grateful to be able to take the weight off her feet for a few glorious minutes all the same.
Ballygobbard was a hive of activity, a level Aisling hadn’t seen since the height of Beast Fever during the summer. It had been a tricky time for her. On the one hand, the excitement and influx of visitors had made her proud of the village and everything it was doing, but on the other, it had left her with a sense of distinct unease. She couldn’t quite put her finger on why. It was almost a relief when Bianca Hatton’s remains were found in the M&S biscuit tin and people swapped talking about the Beast for speculating about who the hell would kill an innocent Bichon Frisé.
